Bullet-resistant window questions
Is bulletproof glass really bulletproof?
No glazing is an unlimited barrier against every possible threat. Bullet-resistant products are evaluated under specified test conditions. The exact documented rating and installation configuration matter.
Can security window film make my windows bullet-resistant?
Do not treat ordinary safety or security film as bullet-resistant glazing. A ballistic claim requires supporting documentation for the specified product and application.
Can my existing window frame be kept?
That depends on the proposed system and the opening. The frame, support, fixing details and manufacturer’s requirements need review. A retrofit is not automatically suitable because a panel fits.
Which protection level should I choose?
Start with a defined requirement, with a qualified security professional where appropriate. Selection should follow that requirement and the product documentation, not a generic good/better/best ranking.
Are residential projects possible?
Residential enquiries are welcome. Suitability depends on the opening, supporting construction, ventilation, exit requirements and available system. It is not assumed from a standard window catalogue.
