The homeowners had already removed the worn carpet before Strataline arrived. The renovation converted the sound existing staircase to finished oak while keeping dust and strong finishing odours carefully controlled inside the home.
What was there before
The homeowners had removed the worn carpet, exposing the original steps and light-oak railing. They wanted hard surfaces with dust and strong finishing odours kept under control during the renovation.
What remained
The existing staircase was sound and its geometry could remain. The conversion changed the visible surfaces without an unnecessary full stair rebuild.
Work completed
Oak caps were fitted through the straight steps and winders. Risers and stringers were finished white, with new oak posts, darker railing components and black metal balusters.
Planning the work
Each winder was fitted to its location. Protection, containment and extraction supported the preparation, and waterborne stain and clear finishes were used inside the occupied home.
The result
The oak grain remains visible, the winders follow the turn, and the stair colour relates to the surrounding hardwood floor.
