A furnished bedroom, a repair that needed care

A board at a prominent custom herringbone intersection was dented during move-in. The primary bedroom was fully furnished and lived in. The owners wanted the floor repaired with as little disruption as possible to their room, belongings and daily life. Keeping their bedroom clean and comfortable was part of the job.

A ZipWall room around the repair

Before cutting, we built a ZipWall enclosure around the damaged section, fully separating the working area from the rest of the bedroom. The furniture and personal belongings stayed in place outside the barrier.

Dust control at the tool and around the work

Our Festool cutting equipment connected to HEPA-rated dust extraction, capturing dust where the board was cut. We placed the dust collector outside the ZipWall barrier. Drawing air out of the enclosed working area created negative pressure to help keep remaining airborne dust contained.

One board replaced. The bedroom ready again.

We carefully removed the damaged board and fitted a replacement into the existing herringbone intersection, preserving the surrounding floor. This repair took three hours. We left the floor clean and the bedroom furnished and ready to use.
