Project overview

3,000 sq. ft. of LVT in one weekend

We had one weekend to install approximately 3,000 square feet of luxury vinyl tile at this Oakville kindergarten. Working through the night kept the job within 24 hours, with no interruption to normal childcare hours.

The challenge

Working around the kindergarten schedule

Furniture and learning materials were moved together to clear each work area. We worked through the classrooms and corridor, then reset the rooms before reopening.

Dust control and containment

Festool dust extractors and ZipWall barriers helped contain dust while work moved between rooms.

Preparing an active classroom

Storage units, displays and play areas filled the classrooms. Moving their contents exposed the pale original floor and gave us access to the room edges.

Working through rooms and doorways

Dark wood-look LVT was laid across the classrooms and through the doorways into the corridor.

Overnight and weekend execution

The overnight push

Installation continued through the night, with the remaining classroom areas finished before furniture was put back.

One continuous floor through the facility

The same wood-look flooring now runs through the classrooms and along the corridor.

From pale flooring to dark wood-look LVT

The original classroom had pale flooring around its learning zones and storage. After installation, the room was reset over a continuous dark wood-look LVT surface.

Tables, storage and play areas were back in place after the 24-hour turnaround. The kindergarten reopened on schedule with zero downtime for normal operations.
