PROJECT STORY · WOODBRIDGE
A New Fixed Window for a Brighter Living Room in Woodbridge
A solid section of wall beside the patio door became a new source of daylight in this Woodbridge home. We cut through the brick and installed a fixed window, giving the living room another view of the garden.
A blank wall with more to offer
The living room already had a glazed patio entrance, but the wall beside it closed off the view. Adding a fixed window brought daylight through that section without creating another doorway.
The position made the change useful from inside and noticeable from outside: a new glazed opening where there had been brick.
A new fixed window replaces the solid brick section beside the patio entrance.
Cutting the opening and fitting the window
We cut the brickwork and removed the masonry within the new opening. Once the opening was prepared, we fitted the fixed window in place.
This was more than changing a frame or replacing glass. The work created a window where none existed, so the opening and installation were handled together.
The photographs follow that change from brick removal to the installed window and cleanup.
The difference from the living room
The finished window sits beside the patio entrance in a light-coloured surround. Together, the two openings bring more of the garden into view from the room.
The new window does not need to be the largest feature in the house to make a difference. It replaces a blank section of wall with daylight—exactly what this living room needed.
The new window adds daylight and a garden view beside the patio entrance.
