A Motorized Pop-Up TV Hidden Inside an Office Counter
Axiom Real-Time Metrics wanted a television available in its Mississauga office dining area without leaving the screen permanently visible above the counter. We built a custom enclosure around a motorized lift, integrated power for the screen and mechanism, and fitted a moving section of countertop that rises above the television before returning to the worktop when the system retracts.

THE DESIGN BRIEF
A television inside the counter
The television sits below the dining-area counter when it is switched off. A motorized lift raises it for viewing, carrying a fitted piece of countertop above the screen.
CUSTOM FRAMING
Building around the lift
We built custom framing inside the counter to support the lift and television. The opening clears both the screen and the countertop insert as they rise.
MOVING COUNTERTOP
A moving piece of countertop
The countertop insert rises above the television, then settles back into the worktop as the lift retracts.
POWER AND OPERATION
Power and remote operation
We provided power inside the enclosure for the television and lift, keeping the wiring clear of the moving parts. The remote raises the television; switching it off retracts the screen and countertop insert.

The finished installation
With the television lowered, the counter is clear. Raised, the screen is available to the office dining area without a permanent stand above the worktop.
