COMMERCIAL CUSTOM INSTALLATION · MISSISSAUGA
A Motorized Pop-Up TV Hidden Inside an Office Counter
Axiom Real-Time Metrics wanted a television available in its Mississauga office dining area without leaving the screen permanently visible above the counter. We built a custom enclosure around a motorized lift, integrated power for the screen and mechanism, and fitted a moving section of countertop that rises with the television and returns when it is lowered.

THE DESIGN BRIEF
A television when it was needed—and a clear counter when it was not
The office dining area needed a television, but Axiom did not want the screen permanently occupying the counter or dominating the room when it was not in use. The solution was to store the television below the worktop and raise it only when needed.
That made the project more than a straightforward TV installation. The screen, lift, enclosure and countertop had to operate as one fitted assembly. When lowered, the technology needed to disappear neatly into the counter. When raised, the television had to arrive at a stable viewing position without interfering with the surrounding construction.
CUSTOM FRAMING
The lift required a rigid, purpose-built enclosure
The motorized mechanism needed a stable structure inside the counter, with enough clearance for the television to complete its full vertical travel. We built the internal framing around the lift, positioned the screen and checked the movement through the opening before completing the surrounding fit.
Accuracy mattered at every stage. A small error in the enclosure or mounting position could cause the television, lift post or countertop insert to bind as the system moved. The installation therefore had to be checked as a complete operating assembly rather than as a collection of separate parts.
MOVING COUNTERTOP
The counter closes again when the television disappears
The television does not rise through a permanently open slot. A fitted section of the countertop travels with the lift beneath the screen. As the television rises, that section lifts away from the surrounding worktop. When the television is lowered, it returns to close the opening.
This detail is what makes the feature feel integrated rather than added afterward. The moving section had to remain level during operation and return consistently to the same resting position. Its alignment was checked together with the screen and lift throughout the installation.
POWER AND OPERATION
Electrical service and remote control were integrated inside the enclosure
Power was provided for both the television and the motorized lift inside the custom installation. The wiring had to remain protected, allow the mechanism to travel and avoid interfering with the moving components.
The completed feature is operated remotely. Staff can raise the television when the screen is needed and lower it when the dining area returns to normal use. We cycled the assembly repeatedly to check its movement, resting positions, cable clearance and alignment.

FINISHED RESULT
Concealed technology without permanently giving up the counter
Raised, the television is positioned above the counter for use in the dining area. Lowered, the screen disappears inside the enclosure and the fitted countertop section returns to the worktop.
The finished installation brought together custom framing, electrical work, mechanical fitting and careful alignment in one compact commercial feature. The result gives Axiom access to the screen when required while preserving a cleaner, more useful counter the rest of the time.
