Sofina Foods Head Office Boardroom Construction in Markham

The office remained operational while the boardroom was under construction, with staff and cubicles immediately outside the work area. The program had to follow Sofina Foods' business operations instead of requiring the surrounding office to shut down.

Much of the disruptive work was therefore scheduled after normal office hours. Framing, drilling and other active construction stages were coordinated to keep disruption to surrounding staff controlled while the new room advanced inside the occupied corporate environment.

The finished boardroom required electrical access at the conference table without loose cords crossing the carpet. Power locations were established first, and the floor was scanned before drilling so an appropriate drilling point could be identified.

The selected location was then core drilled to carry the electrical feed to the table. The completed arrangement provides power receptacles at both ends of the boardroom table.

East-facing windows send strong morning light across the boardroom walls at a shallow angle. This raking light can reveal drywall joints, sanding marks, waves, ridges, skim-coat imperfections and inconsistent paint texture that ordinary interior lighting may hide.

The wall preparation therefore required extensive skim coating, careful sanding, surface correction and repeated inspection. This was essentially a Level 5-quality wall finish, with additional attention because the direct natural light travelled across the surface rather than meeting it head-on. Painting was the final stage of a much more involved wall-finishing process. Commercial carpet tile and vinyl baseboards completed the floor perimeter and tied the finished room together. These elements formed part of the coordinated commercial package alongside the walls, door, electrical work and flooring installation .

The boardroom entrance uses a heavy custom-made door incorporating glass. Because it was made specifically for this project, installation required careful fitting and alignment at the finished wall and floor transitions.

The door provides a substantial corporate-boardroom entrance while maintaining a visual connection to the surrounding office. No unsupported weight, glass thickness, hardware brand, fire rating or acoustic rating is attributed to the assembly.

The completed boardroom brings together sound-control wall construction, smooth painted surfaces, carpet tile, vinyl baseboards, the custom glass door, integrated table power, ceiling lighting and the full conference-room layout.

Wide finished views show the scale of the room and the quality of the wall surfaces under natural and interior light. The technical work is now largely concealed, leaving a practical and highly finished corporate meeting space inside Sofina Foods' operating Markham head office.
